If you’ve made the investment in an outdoor kitchen in Kansas City for your home, chances are you’re going to want to figure out ways you can use it all year long, even after the winter months have arrived and it’s not as pleasant outside. It’s a common misconception that you can only use your outdoor kitchen when the weather is nice—it doesn’t have to be a two-season investment!
Here are just a few examples of some of the ways you can continue to get some use out of your outdoor kitchen even after the weather starts to get chilly:
- Barbecue: There are plenty of people who continue to grill all year long. Perhaps you won’t choose to sit out and enjoy the weather while you’re cooking or while the grill is heating up, but there’s certainly nothing wrong with barbecuing during the winter months. You might even consider designing special barbecue areas in your outdoor kitchen that make it easier for you to access and use it throughout the year.
- Cooking around a fire: If you have a fire pit in or nearby your outdoor kitchen, you can switch things up a bit and use that to cook when the weather is cold. There’s something about a winter bonfire that is quite pleasant. You can make all kinds of foods over a fire, using skewers or cast iron pots or skillets. Plus, the bonfire will be a great source of warmth and comfort if it’s a bit cold outside.
- Pizza: Pizza is good all year round, and this is especially the case when you have your own pizza oven as part of your outdoor kitchen. Here again, just because you might not necessarily want to stay outside and enjoy the weather doesn’t mean you can’t continue to use your outdoor kitchen, especially if you have a pizza oven that your indoor oven simply cannot compete with. There’s something greatly satisfying about a hot, smoky pizza on a cold winter’s day that you cooked in your own personal pizza oven. Don’t let this investment go to waste!
- Outdoor heaters: There are some outdoor space heaters you can purchase to make your outdoor kitchen more comfortable. There are many types of businesses that use overhead heaters outdoors during the wintertime, for example. You could seek out overheat heaters for a pergola, or you could find other floor heaters to heat specific areas on your patio while it’s in use. This will allow you to still relax outdoors even when the weather is cold. You could even spend Christmas morning outside if you so choose!
These are just a few examples of some of the ways you can continue to use your outdoor kitchen in Kansas City even during the winter months.
